Yeah you can do what the traveler did but at the end of the day, all your clothing gets boring after a while no matter how much or little you pack…i just replenish my wardrobe to keep things fresh. buy a new maxi dress, ditch the old one! i think i average one new item per month to freshen things up 😉

less than 20lb is great! sounds like you’re doing great the way you’re packing now 🙂

You’re totally right, though, when you’re dealing with four seasons on a RTW trip, more is necessary. Not to mention local culture considerations. And the need to occasionally dress nice for a date 😉 But my pack still weighs less than 20 lbs!

I read somewhere of someone’s experiment wearing the same outfit for a year! One pair of pants and two or three of the exact same shirt, with a scarf and sweater for cooler weather (San Francisco). Plus a dress for more formal work occasions. It sounded awesome and terribly boring all at the same time (and I’m no fashionista).

We are going on a western Med. cruise late Sept and then spending 4 extra days in Rome. I love your site by the way.

Hi Dawna, that’s because those are extras as everyone’s sleeping and work out needs differ (also for outerwear):-) Stay tuned for future posts about PJs and workout gear coming soon!

Hi Christine I’m glad you like the lists! Did you prefer the jeans to the cargo pants?
